Counselor Services for Students and their Parents

Graduation Requirements: This meeting provides students and their families with information about requirements for graduation.

Graduation Planning: During this meeting students and their families receive an academic plan, which will project a reasonable graduation date for the student.  Individual High School Learning Plan
ROP Carer and technical Preparation: Intended for 11th and 12th graders interested in earning up to 15 elective credits a semester.  ROP classes are offered at SCUSD high schools and are open to students 16 years or older.
Junior College Course Work: Students with a 2.7 GPA who have completed the 10th grade, or are at least 16 yers of age by the first day of instruction, may concurrently enroll at a comunity college.  Student earn both college and high school credits, and the cost of tuition is free.  Ask Mr. Whitehead for assistance in registering and choosing classes.
Internships/Work Experience: Earn one credit for every 20 hours of volunteer time spent working at a local business or organization. 
Athletics: CCS students may participate in team sports at their school of residence while earning P. E. or elective credits at Capital City.
College Informational Meetings: In this meeting, you will receive information about how to apply for college, college entrance requirements, college entrance tests, financial aid, and programs offered at various colleges. Bring all of your questions about college to this meeting, and we will work together to bring you up-to-date with the necessary information.
Referrals to other sources: Mr. Whitehead will help you with contact information for other agencies regarding medical and mental health issues, and much more!
Work Permits: You may pick up an application for a work prermit in the office.
