Senior Project Requirements

  • The Objective: The objective is the core of the Senior Project experience.  You will choose an objective, wihich extends your learning and challenges your abilities. You will choose an objective that leads you to a new area of knowledge, or provides you with increased knowdledge in a subject with which you are already familiar. Collaborate with your teachers, family and friends to generate ideas for your project.
  • The Paper: To help you reach your senior project objective, you will need to acquire a substantial amount of knowledge. You and your senior project teacher together will select a research paper topic that is manageable, a topic that is not too broad and yet adequately addresses the subject you have chosen for your senior project.
  • The Reflection:
  • The Portfolio: Since most of the work on your Senior Project will be done outside of class, you want to keep accurate records of the time you devote, how much money you spend, where you go, who you talk to, what you ;learn, etc. The portfolio is the place where you will record that information.  You will present your portfolio to your senior project teacher when you make your final senior project presentation.
  • The Presentation: On a predetermined date, you will formally present your project to your senior project teacher, one other CCS staff member and anyone else you wish to invite. You will share your research paper, the process you followed to reach your objective, the knowledge you gained, and the personal growth you experienced as a result of your endeavor.
